Automotive Parts Manager

Take Ownership. Strengthen the Department. Grow With Us.

About Us
Bessada Kia is Durham Region’s longest-serving Kia dealership: family-owned, based in Pickering, and known for caring about our customers and each other. Our people stay, and many of our team have been with us for years, because we believe in them and stand behind them. We invest in training and in the people who work here.

The Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced, organized, and hands-on Parts Manager to lead and develop our two-person Parts Department. You’ll work alongside your team while taking ownership of the processes, performance, and results that drive the department forward.

Our priorities are strong inventory control, reliable support for our Service Department, excellent customer service, and sustainable, profitable growth. As workload and performance grow, we’ll consider adding staff based on results. If you take pride in an organized operation, developing your team, and seeing the financial results of your work, we’d like to hear from you.

What You’ll Do

Own inventory and purchasing. Maintain accurate stock, run regular cycle counts, manage ordering and receiving, oversee returns and special orders, and reduce aged inventory, obsolete stock, and avoidable emergency freight. Track missed and lost sales so stocking decisions are based on real demand.

Deliver outstanding service support. Help technicians and advisors get the right parts at the right time, communicate availability and backorders clearly, and improve coordination between Parts and Service. Work with our warranty clerks to make sure parts-related processes follow Kia warranty procedures.

Manage daily operations. Oversee retail, wholesale, and internal parts orders while keeping transactions accurate in our dealership management system and electronic parts catalogues.

Drive profitable growth. Improve pricing and margins, develop wholesale relationships with independent repair shops, body shops, and fleets, and build customer loyalty.

Manage performance and lead the team. Monitor monthly gross and net profit, manage expenses, set budgets and goals, and report results and opportunities to dealership leadership. Set clear expectations, coach team members, organize workload, and help determine when additional staffing is justified.

Your First Year

  • First 90 days: Assess inventory and Service support, put clear processes in place, and set measurable baselines.
  • Months 4–6: Show measurable gains in inventory accuracy and aged stock, and cut avoidable errors and emergency freight.
  • Months 7–12: Deliver improved profitability, grow wholesale business, and present a year-two plan, including staffing recommendations.

What You Bring

  • Automotive dealership parts experience, preferably as a Parts Manager or in a senior parts position. Kia or other OEM experience is an asset.
  • Strong inventory management, purchasing, and organizational skills, with a solid understanding of departmental gross profit, expenses, and margins.
  • A hands-on leadership approach, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a small, busy department.
  • Confidence working with dealership management systems and electronic parts catalogues. We currently use CDK and are transitioning to PBS in the new year, so experience with either is an asset, and we’ll provide training and support.
  • Availability to work every other Saturday.
  • A valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.

Compensation and Benefits
Your pay will consist of:

  • Base salary
  • Monthly incentive based on departmental gross profit
  • Annual bonus tied to departmental net profit
  • Monthly performance bonus based on established inventory targets

In addition, we offer:

  • Clearly defined goals and regular performance reviews
  • Support from a leadership team committed to your success
  • Health and dental benefits
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Employee purchase programs and company discounts
  • The stability of a family-owned dealership where people build long-term careers

How to Apply
Please submit your resume along with a brief note outlining your automotive dealership parts experience to mistyb@bessadakia.com, or apply directly through this posting.
